Sunday gatherings, all at 9:30am, alternate weekly between two programs—worship services (first and third Sundays) and religious exploration sessions (second and fourth Sundays).
March 6th: Rev. Jenny leads our worship service, with Karen Ludwig’s collaboration as Worship Coordinator. We will hear about the Rev. Joseph Jordan, largely recognized as the first African American minister ordained by the UCA (Universalist Church of America). The AUA (American Unitarian Association) and the UCA merged in 1961 to form our current UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association).

Wednesday Meditations: Our 11:00am Wednesday group practices mindful meditation, a silent sit for 30 minutes. All levels of experience and interest welcome, coming late or leaving early is okay.

Sunday, March 6th: UU History Movie Series: A Long, Strange Trip! Part 4: Universalism. Our journey through 2,000 years of our faith’s development continues with Part 4, documenting the development of Universalism from the early German and English pietists to John Murray, Elhanan Winchester, and Hosea Ballou. Details the unprecedented expansion of Universalist churches across the United States in the first half of the 19 th century, and discusses why this movement began its precipitous decline after the death of Ballou in 1850.

Death & Donuts: Saturday, March 26th, 9am – 10:30am. Topic TBD. Our newly forming “Death & Donuts” group is open for all who enjoy space for this often neglected subject of our mortality. Unique in that this is not meant as a grief support group, participants share insights and questions together. We hope to feature a guest speaker this month, so stay tuned for details.
Thrive Pocatello Exploration session: Sunday, March 27th, 4:30pm. (Zoom? In-person option? TBD) Participants will share their insights and together explore whether a Thrive Pocatello hosted in our Fellowship Meeting House would serve the community well. Where regionally dominant religion serves some, others are left wanting. thrivebeyondreligion.com seeks to create independent spaces wherever they are desired, by and for people who do not identify/belong/resonate with organized religions. Especially created for people questioning or transitioning from high demand religions, Thrive Pocatello would explicitly welcome people who directly or indirectly have experienced harm, exclusion, exhaustion, disillusion or disenfranchisement from any religious institution. Participants will express desire for community not contingent upon belonging to any particular faith.
Theology in Time: Our Spring spiritual growth series begins in April and will run six Sundays, 1:30pm – 3pm. Theology in Time will focus on individual faith development within a framework of time stretching beyond and before us. What is permanent for you and what is transient?
