Click here for the current PUUF By-Laws. The following is a Summary of Proposed PUUF By-Laws Changes:
Overall, the wording has been changed to a more modern reading, with less “legalese,” fewer restrictions and less redundancy.
ARTICLE I – No changes.
ARTICLE II – AFFILIATION
Updated to include Pacific Western Region (Mountain Desert District no longer exists).
ARTICLE III – PURPOSES
Added: “to provide other religious programming.”
ARTICLE IV – MEMBERSHIP
Terminology is changed to offer membership with less restrictive guidelines.
Annual Meeting description has been moved to Article VII.
ARTICLE V – BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Basically the same, with minor edits and more flexibility.
The number of Directors At-Large has been changed to “zero to three,” owing to the small size of our congregation.
ARTICLE VI – DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS OF THE BOARD
This article has been renamed and adapted from Article VII.
Duties have been streamlined to afford more flexibility.
The Past President will now serve as the Chair of the Leadership Development Committee (formerly the Nominating Committee).
ARTICLE VII – ELECTIONS AND BOARD TERMS
This article has been renamed and adapted from Article VI.
Elected terms of office are made less restrictive.
ARTICLE VIII – COMMITTEES
This article is less restrictive regarding committees.
The Nominating Committee has been discontinued and is replaced by the Leadership Development Committee.
ARTICLE IX – DUTIES OF STANDING COMMITTEES has been removed from the document.
