The children’s meditation and religious exploration program is offered jointly through a collaboration between the Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and the Portneuf Sangha. The program is offered after the Pocatello UU weekly Sunday meeting block and during the Portneuf Sangha’s Sunday program. The goal of the program is to provide meaningful meditative and religious educational experiences for children while simultaneously supporting parents to be able to attend the Sangha meditation and discussion on Sundays sans children.

Children of all ages are welcome to join in regardless of religious belief or church membership. Children’s RE sessions include child-appropriate meditative exercises, singing, stories, activities, and discussions on a wide range of topics in religion, spirituality, and social justice. Weather-permitting and pending sufficient adult supervision, children may also spend time outside at Lookout Point Park.

The program will be held each Sunday in the Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship building from 10:35 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and will cater to youth ages 3-11. Parents are always welcome but not required to attend. Toddlers must have a parent or guardian present. We ask parents of children in diapers or who require assistance going to the bathroom to be available close by to assist as needed.

Parents need to complete an Intake Form once per child prior to the child attending the program. There will be a separate Child Sign-in/Sign-out sheet that you will need to fill out in person each time you drop off/pick up your child at the UU building.
